Kitty Pryde was just an ordinary, average teenager growing up in Illinois until she reached the age of thirteen. She began to experience headaches that signaled the onset of her mutant powers, and soon discovered that she had to ability to make herself intangible and could phase through objects. Over time, she learned to control her powers enough to phase into electronic objects and disrupt their flow as well as the abilities to walk on air and to affect someone else with her phasing abilities as long as she was touching them.
Joining the X-Men at the age of thirteen, Kitty became close with certain members such as Storm and learned a lot. She spent most of her formative years there, traveling and developing her powers to the best of her abilities. Thanks to her genius level intelligence, she was able to make the most of her experiences by comprehending things that most kids her age would be baffled by, and she endured a few learning experiences that made her stronger in the long run.
Having been possessed by the ninja Ogun, Kitty was granted a lifetime of martial arts training which has served her well. Also during one of the missions she was sent on as part of the X-men Kitty met and befriended a dragon-like alien creature named Lockheed, who she shares a psychic bond with and is extremely loyal to her. She is also known for being extremely agile thanks to continued dance training and has genius-level skills in the field of computer science.
Sample Post: There was nothing like going to college to make a girl feel perfectly normal, and although Kitty was far from normal she loved the fact that nobody at the University she had been attending could tell the difference. Thanks to her incredible intelligence and quick wit she had already distinguished herself as an exemplary student by making the Dean’s List each semester of her attendance at the state school. She had many friends, and was a member of various clubs, but constantly felt as if something was missing.
As she sat in her dorm room looking through an older photo album, Kitty came across a picture of herself with her old friends from the X-men. A pang of lowliness filled her as she realized how deeply she missed the camaraderie and excitement she had experienced as a part of that team. Going to college was something she had promised her parents that she would accomplish however, and since their passing when Magneto attacked Genosha she had sworn she would keep that promise. It didn’t stop her from wishing she could lead a double life though.
Lying back on her bed, she sighed thoughtfully as she came across a picture of herself mugging for the camera with one of her dearest friends, Kurt Wagner, and her constant companion Lockheed. She had absolutely hated leaving Lockheed behind, but she knew that if anyone at school saw her winged confidante there would be trouble over it. Deciding to check in and see how he was doing, Kitty picked up her phone to give another old friend a call.
The phone seemed to ring forever, when finally a voicemail clicked in.
“Hello, you’ve reached Ororo Munroe. I’m not available at the moment, but please leave a message and I will contact you when I return.” Kitty chuckled to herself at how formal Storm was even over voicemail, and hung up her phone deciding to try back later. No point in leaving certain information on a machine anyone could get to.
